The Opportunity of Energy Efficiency
Today’s energy system is incredibly inefficient- wasting $4.5 trillion, or almost 5% of global GDP — all before any value is created with energy. Energy efficiency reduces waste, costs, and pollution.
The Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue is an important European forum on the global energy transition. It is the largest event hosted by the German Federal Foreign Office and the largest and longest-running energy transition conference hosted by the German government.
In 2025, RMI is featured in the Berlin Energy Efficiency Day, a lead up to the renowned conference to highlight the role of energy efficiency in the global energy transition, foster international collaboration, and identify political stepping stones.
RMIers Laetitia de Marez, Laurens Speelman, and Chiara Gulli are offering the concluding plenary on connecting the community and raising momentum, at 5:45 p.m. CET. The full event runs from 1:00–7:00 p.m. CET.
