Nocona Sanders

Nocona Sanders is a Senior Associate on the Carbon-Free Transportation team, where he helps cities, fleets, utilities, and policymakers advance equitable transportation electrification across both light-duty mobility and heavy-duty freight. His work combines community-centered engagement and implementation support, including EV carshare and mobility access strategies, with quantitative analysis such as fleet electrification modeling, charging infrastructure planning, and greenhouse gas emissions inventories. He focuses on translating technical and policy insights into practical strategies that expand access to clean transportation, improve affordability, and support the deployment of charging infrastructure at scale.

Background

Prior to joining RMI, Nocona was a senior associate at Gladstein, Neandross & Associates, a clean energy and transportation consulting firm. While there, he used technical analyses on the total cost of ownership, greenhouse gas emissions inventories, and fleet energy use profiles to inform the deployment of electric vehicles and their charging infrastructure. While at the University of Michigan, Nocona researched the properties of novel materials for energy-efficient LEDs and high-power electronics.
