Use this web tool’s interactive features to see where methane and carbon dioxide are emitted and investigate ways to reduce energy waste and the life-cycle emissions intensities of production, refining and petrochemical processing, storage, transport, and end uses.
WasteMAP

WasteMAP

September 9, 2024
WasteMAP serves as a comprehensive tool for aggregating, mapping, and analyzing waste methane emissions. WasteMAP also hosts a decision support tool and a library of valuable resources for methane abatement, helping decision makers implement waste management practices that reduce methane emissions in their communities.
PACTA

PACTA

RESOURCE
April 5, 2026
The Paris Agreement Capital Transition Assessment (PACTA) is an open-source and free of charge software application that enables users to measure the alignment of financial portfolios with climate scenarios as well as analyze specific companies.
SAFc Registry

SAFc Registry

RESOURCE
September 9, 2024
The SAFc Registry connects corporate consumers, air transport providers, logistics providers, and clean fuel producers in a globally accessible platform that encourages the use of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) through the purchase and use of SAF certificates. It enables consistency, transparency and auditability of aviation-related emissions reduction claims to build trust, scale SAFc uptake, and signal strong demand for new SAF supply.
Green Upgrade Calculator

Green Upgrade Calculator

September 9, 2024
This sophisticated, user-friendly calculator enables energy professionals – contractors, advisors, and analysts – to assess the economic and environmental impacts of green home and transportation upgrades.
Decarbonizing Industry Resource Tool (DIRT)

Decarbonizing Industry Resource Tool (DIRT)

RESOURCE
September 28, 2023
Get the DIRT on industrial decarbonization incentives. This tool can help project developers, industrial companies, and investors discover the state and federal financial incentives that may be applicable to their heavy industry and transport projects.
State Clean Energy Analysis with the Energy Policy Simulator

State Clean Energy Analysis with the Energy Policy Simulator

RESOURCE
March 29, 2021
The Energy Policy Simulator (EPS) is a free open-source model for estimating the environmental, economic, and human health impacts of hundreds of climate and energy policies. Use the national model or 48 state models to test out energy policy scenarios.
Clean Growth Tool

Clean Growth Tool

RESOURCE
July 25, 2024
Using this tool, every metro area in the US can find the clean energy industries most feasible for them to transition into based on their existing economic makeup and industrial capacities.

Further, by identifying priority industries, each metro can then use this tool to identify workforce occupations where there are likely to be skills shortages in their region and begin creating workforce development strategies to overcome these potential constraints.
AFFORD Tool

AFFORD Tool

November 15, 2023
Navigating hundreds of federal funding opportunities can be overwhelming. Our funding tool, America’s Federal Funding Opportunities and Resources for Decarbonization (AFFORD), is designed to help you identify, compare, and prioritize federal funding, tax credits, and other incentives. This free tool is primarily intended to streamline public, non-profit, and community efforts to increase understanding of eligible funding and incentives that are relevant to your project, goals, and community.
Smarter MODES Calculator: Smarter Mobility Options for Decarbonization, Equity, and Safety

Smarter MODES Calculator: Smarter Mobility Options for Decarbonization, Equity, and Safety

February 15, 2024
RMI’s Smarter MODES Calculator quantifies the state-by-state economic, safety, climate, and air quality benefits of strategies to reduce vehicle miles traveled that expand transportation options and complement vehicle electrification.
SPECT

SPECT

RESOURCE
September 9, 2024
The Satellite Point source Emissions Completeness Tool (SPECT) is an interactive platform that enables users to compare and contrast the capabilities of satellite technologies — both existing and planned — according to a metric of completeness. Completeness refers to the ability to detect global methane super-emitters, or large point sources of methane greater than 25 kg/hr. The metric allows for a more direct comparison between satellites based on the percentage of high-emission methane sources they are able to detect.
SHIFT Calculator

SHIFT Calculator

September 9, 2024
The SHIFT (State Highway Induced Frequency of Travel) calculator enables users to estimate long-run (i.e., after 5 to 10 years) induced vehicle miles traveled (VMT) and emissions impacts from capacity expansions of large roadways in Metropolitan Statistical Areas (MSAs) or urbanized counties, based on existing lane mileage and vehicle miles traveled data from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA).
E-Bike Environment and Economics Impact Assessment Calculator

E-Bike Environment and Economics Impact Assessment Calculator

January 16, 2025
RMI’s Assessment Calculator for Cities simplifies the process of assessing the impact of mode-shift from electric bikes (e-bikes) for policymakers, transportation officials, advocates, and other interested stakeholders.
Utility Transition Hub

Utility Transition Hub

September 9, 2024
The Utility Transition Hub provides data relevant to their process in the energy transition, including the amount of resources they have by type, emissions levels, operations, finances, customers & community, Policies & Regulations, Comparisons, and Climate Alignment.
Optimus

Optimus

RESOURCE Electricity
September 9, 2024
Optimus is a modeling tool that can be used to measure the techno-financial implications of different utility resource plans. It can be used for a single project, or for an entire portfolio of projects, with time horizons that span decades.
