Services
RMI builds and maintains tools to track and address the affordability challenges facing utility customers. RMI’s tools have been designed to assist in policy discussions and inform policy design. They have been used in a variety of settings for policy discussions and adapted for expert testimony in proceedings across the country.
RMI’s original research has been collected into foundational reports that push the state of the art of regulatory reform and grid innovation. Leveraging these reports can resolve both emergent and regularly occurring challenges facing the electricity system.
RMI conducts cutting edge research that informs the policy design, implementation, and priorities of decision makers. Our library of resources includes research commissioned by regulatory commissions, state energy offices, and consumer advocates.
RMI experts regularly attend PUC workshops to help inform and support a robust record to shape affordability discussions. RMI also has on-staff master facilitators who can lead convenings.
RMI experts can help prepare discovery, comments, and even expert testimony that can be filed in the next resource plan, fuel docket, or rate case. RMI keeps and maintains a clearinghouse of discovery, comments, and commission rulings on key topics that can often be leveraged in contested proceedings in other jurisdictions.
