Xinxin Hu has been working as a senior associate with RMI’s buildings practice for over four years, supporting the Affordable Housing and Demand Management initiatives. She manages projects and leads technical analysis focused on energy efficient grid interactive design and prefabricated zero-carbon retrofit solutions in the residential building sector. She investigates the potential of utilizing distributed energy resources and demand flexibility to enhance grid services and facilitate the integration of renewable energy sources. Her technical proficiency encompasses energy analysis, building electrification, sustainable and resiliency design, and energy efficiency.
Background
Before joining RMI, Xinxin worked as a building performance engineer in WSP for three years. She has rich experience in HVAC system design, controls, and energy analysis. Her experience includes detailed HVAC system modeling, especially for HVAC system upgrades, data analytics using Python Scripts and Excel, and parametric design analysis for commercial and residential buildings. She led multiple projects including laboratory, commercial, courthouse, high-rise multifamily, and healthcare buildings to meet code requirements across the United States.
