Suzanne (Suzy) Schadel

Suzy is a senior associate in the Climate Intelligence Program’s Commodity Markets Transformation Initiative. Her work focuses on advancing state, federal, and global policy and differentiated market growth that illuminate and reduce oil and gas methane emissions from upstream and midstream sectors. Her focus areas include augmenting emissions inventories with reconciled measurement data, fostering data transparency, marginal and orphaned wells, supply chain emissions accounting, and identifying financial sector opportunities to engage on methane targets.

Background

Prior to RMI, Suzy was an engineering project manager at GHD for large, multi-year international environmental permitting projects, and also for water (stormwater, drinking water, wastewater, desalination) projects serving industrial, municipal, and state clients in Texas and California. She also supported oil and gas remediation projects in Texas and served as the program coordinator for GHD’s Sustainability & Resiliency Program. Prior to GHD, she developed novel methodologies to determine city-level costs for urban areas to achieve Sustainable Development Goal 11 at AidData. She has also developed emissions inventories and submitted various permits under Shell’s Environmental & Regulatory teams for Permian and Appalachian assets.
