Srinidhi formerly oversaw RMI’s building decarbonization policy campaigns in the West and Interior West. She spearheaded RMI’s growing body of affordable housing policy work and equitable IRA implementation at the federal and state levels.
Background
Prior to RMI, Srinidhi worked at the California Housing Partnership, where she led their energy efficiency and decarbonization program implementation, including the Low Income Weatherization Program, Solar On Multifamily Affordable Housing Program, and Building Initiatives for Low Emissions Development Program. She spearheaded the partnership’s legislative and regulatory policy for resilient affordable housing, especially low-income housing tax credit properties. She was a steering committee member of the Energy Efficiency For All coalition and worked on several key policies to advance equitable decarbonization policies in California, including tenant protections and community resiliency centers. She also designed and implemented the first utility-funded, low-income heat pump program in the country while she was at MCE, a Community Choice Aggregator. Through this program, she developed a set of nonenergy benefits metrics that the Public Utilities Commission could adopt for low-income fuel-switching programs.
