Selim is a senior associate with the Climate Finance Program, where he focuses on grid modeling. He currently uses power systems modeling, financial instruments, systems analysis, and data science tools to support stakeholders in identifying and designing cost-effective investments and programs to enable a more resilient grid.
Background
Prior to RMI, Selim was part of the energy and utilities team at PA Consulting, where he analyzed US wholesale power markets. He specifically focused on capacity markets to assess how the ever-changing policy landscape affected the value proposition of various power generation assets. He also modeled electric power markets for regions across North America, including wholesale power, capacity, and REC price forecasting. In his graduate studies, Selim worked on designing a microgrid for a small farming community in Puerto Rico.
