Julia Kate is an Associate on RMI’s Climate-Aligned Industries program, where she advances decarbonization strategies for hard-to-abate sectors. Her work focuses on accelerating green steel and cement through rigorous policy analysis, market research, and evidence-based strategy development.

Background

Julia Kate previously interned with RMI’s Carbon Free Transportation team, where she developed a strategic roadmap for a consumer awareness and corporate engagement campaign to accelerate two-wheeler EV adoption in Indonesia.

She has experience in local government, including roles with the City of Rancho Palos Verdes and the City of Long Beach, contributing to local planning and policy development, public engagement, and GHG emissions reporting. In the nonprofit sector, she advanced clean, equitable transportation policy with the Bicycle Coalition of Maine and supported federal conservation advocacy efforts with the Endangered Species Coalition.
