Joey Cathcart

Joey is a senior associate supporting RMI’s Climate Aligned Industries Program on the Aviation team. He manages RMI’s Contrail Impact Task Force initiative, which works to share and expand upon the latest science on the climate impact of contrails as well as explore strategies and challenges to safely avoid warming contrails while minimizing additional CO2 emissions. Joey also leads the Aviation team’s Net-Zero Airport Infrastructure initiative, supporting airports and their stakeholders in advancing discussions and analysis on planning activities required for scaled adoption of SAF and alternative fuel aviation technologies.

Background

Joey holds a Bachelor’s in Aviation Management from Westminster College of Salt Lake City and a Master’s in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Colorado Denver. Prior to joining RMI, Joey previously lived a life working in airport operations at the Morristown Airport in New Jersey.
