Ian is a manager within RMI’s Global South Program, working on the Islands Energy Program. He works primarily on the development and project management of micro-grid and battery storage projects focused on embedding resilience and accelerating decarbonization across the Caribbean.
Background
Prior to joining RMI, Ian worked at a large utility in the UK, where he led the development of commercial propositions for battery storage and renewable co-located projects. This involved defining the business case, providing advisory for investors, structuring revenue guarantees to de-risk financing, modelling, and contract development. Before his work in battery storage, Ian worked in the Wholesale Market Team, where he developed strategic proposals and hedging approaches. He also worked on several innovative projects, ranging from hydrogen to e-mobility smart charging and vehicle-to-grid.
