Hilary Griggs

Hilary is an associate on RMI’s Carbon-Free Electricity team, where she works with regulators and advocates to advance policies addressing energy insecurity, disconnections, and other forms of energy poverty.

Background

Prior to RMI, Hilary worked on the regulatory team at Current Hydro, where she supported FERC licensing, environmental permitting, and business development efforts for run-of-river hydropower projects. She also worked at the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Indigenized Energy, and FinRegLab.
Hilary earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in history and a certificate in energy studies from Yale, focusing on American energy history. She wrote a senior thesis on the Mandan, Hidatsa, and Arikara Nation’s fight against the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Garrison Dam, advised by Professor Ned Blackhawk. At Yale, she was a research assistant for the Energy History Online project, an editorial intern on the Yale Law Journal, and a farm manager for the Yale Sustainable Food Program.
