Hara is a principal at RMI and a leader of RMI’s Carbon Markets Initiative, which applies data and technology to transparently trace, evaluate, and differentiate products in the carbon market.

Background

Hara came to lead RMI’s Carbon Markets Initiative after six years in the climate tech venture community. She cofounded and led Third Derivative, a global startup acceleration platform within RMI, covering opportunities in industrial, building, transportation, electricity and carbon removal tech. She led and supported early-stage venture capital investments at Braemar Energy Ventures, focusing on digital energy, advanced materials, and industrial decarbonization. She also worked in strategy and business development at Eos Energy Storage (NASDAQ: EOSE), a zinc-based battery storage startup. Hara started her career as a consultant at McKinsey & Company, where she advised clients in the renewable energy, specialty chemical, and enterprise SaaS sectors. She also volunteered as a product designer with TechnoServe’s Cocoa Program in Cote d’Ivoire and as an engineer with the Desert Research Foundation of Namibia.
