Eric Lockhart is a Project Leader at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). His domestic research and analysis portfolio focuses on solar soft costs and solar plus storage, including best practices for operations and maintenance of combined solar PV and battery systems. On the international front, Eric’s work focuses on microgrid deployment in sub-Saharan Africa, including system modeling and analysis and policy and regulatory support for national-level decision makers. Eric’s graduate studies focused on energy systems analysis and the intersection of clean energy policy and international development, and included a summer as a research fellow at the University of Ghana studying the role of the energy sector in economic growth in Ghana and Cote d’Ivoire. Eric spent several years working in economic and market research at Merrill Lynch before transitioning to renewable energy.
