At KPCB Bill made more than 20 early stage clean tech investments. Since leaving KPCB has also personally led financings for
- Ionic Materials, whose polymers enable safe, high performance and low cost room temperature solid state batteries, and
- Solidia Technologies, whose cement and concrete technology greatly reduces CO2 emissions and water consumption
Bill so works to accelerate the transition to electric transportation, decarbonization of the grid and resource efficiency on the “soft path”. Bill is a member of the National Academy of Engineering and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. He holds degrees from the University of Michigan and UC Berkeley in Engineering and Computer Science.
