Ben Shapiro

Ben is a Principal with RMI’s Carbon-Free Transportation team, which catalyzes rapid progress on emissions reductions in the transportation sector. His work focuses on using his knowledge of the electric power and transportation sectors to identify barriers and opportunities to vehicle electrification while listening to and leveraging the distinct expertise and perspectives of diverse stakeholders in the transition to a clean transportation system.

Background

Prior to joining RMI, Ben worked at the consulting firm Energy & Environmental Economics (E3), focusing primarily on economic and policy analysis of distributed energy resources and transportation electrification, retail rate design, and avoided cost development. At E3, he catered to a broad range of clients, including energy regulatory agencies, public and private electric utilities, community choice aggregators, battery storage developers, national laboratories, and NGOs.

In his free time, Ben enjoys time on the trail, live music, and adventures with his wife Kendra, sons Jordan and Bryce, and canine compadre Leo.
