Andrew Waddell is a senior associate with RMI’s Climate-Aligned Industries program, where he focuses on decarbonization of heavy transport and heavy industry, with particular emphasis on the interaction between the electricity sector and fuels production. As part of RMI’s shipping team, he works on advancing green shipping corridors and conducting regional fuel supply analyses through techno-economic modeling and stakeholder engagement across the shipping value chain.

Background

Before joining RMI, Andrew held a research fellowship with the energy-system modeling and consulting firm Evolved Energy Research, where his analysis of decarbonization pathways across all sectors of the economy was used by government and regulatory bodies, energy companies, and NGOs to guide policy development and investment decisions.

In his career in the energy transition, Andrew has also worked as a renewable energy project manager deploying solar, storage, and microgrid projects; and as a policy analyst focused on building decarbonization.
