Alyssa is a transmission fellow on the Clean Competitive Grids team within RMI’s Carbon-Free Electricity Program. She researches approaches to improve the siting and permitting of high-voltage transmission infrastructure and grid-scale renewables across the United States.
Background
Before joining RMI, Alyssa worked with the education research and development agency WestEd as a research associate. She supported strategic resource allocation, systems planning, and educator workforce research and technical assistance efforts. Her work also included analysis of the positive outcomes promoted by investments in sustainable school facilities.
Prior to WestEd, Alyssa worked as a research assistant at the Energy Institute at Haas assessing labor union strategies in environmental policymaking conflicts, and at the Berkeley Institute for Young Americans studying variations in generational values, voting behaviors, and experiences of socioeconomic risk.
