Scaling Resilience Hubs to Address Growing Community Needs

3:00-5:00 p.m. PT
In-person In-person

This year, Los Angeles faced the worst natural disaster in the country’s history. Multiple wildfires burned through 40,000 acres, impacting 16,000 homes and leaving 1.2 million people without power.

As climate change effects intensify, how can we prepare our communities for safety amid increasingly severe natural disasters?

During San Francisco Climate Week, RE-volv, RMI and CIPL will gather key stakeholders for a dynamic discussion on how we can scale resilience and safety at a community level in LA and nationwide, while also lowering energy bills. The discussion will center around lessons learned, opportunities, and ways attendees can take action to build local resilience.

Speakers include:

  • Jacquelyn Badejo, climate leader, community activist and representative of Watts-Willowbrook Church of Christ in Compton, CA
  • Meredith Cowart, Senior Associate with RMI
  • Susan Stephenson, Executive Director with California Interfaith Power & Light
  • Coral Abbott, Program Manager with Invest in Our Future
  • Andreas Karelas, Executive Director with RE-volv
