Over the past two years, communities across the United States have attracted unprecedented levels of investment in a wide range of clean energy, infrastructure, manufacturing, and advanced technology projects. Much of this surge is due to a set of federal incentives that economic developers have quickly come to rely on and incorporate into their work. With the results of the election, many are asking whether and how these incentive programs could change, and how various economic development efforts — including business retention, expansion, and attraction — may be affected related to clean energy projects and investments in cleantech manufacturing .
