New MRV Capacities and Their Impact on Methane Emissions Data Transparency
RegisterAbout This Event
Remote sensing technologies have transformed how we can accurately measure, report, and verify (MRV) methane emissions. During a 60-minute keynote speakers event live at COP28 and livestreamed below, featuring RMI’s TJ Conway, experts will explore how remote MRV capacities are emerging to build trust and credibility in this data, and how their institutions are working to leverage this heightened emissions transparency to develop more accurate emissions inventory estimates, update NDCs, and ultimately drive powerful reduction actions from companies, governments, financiers, and civil society.
This event will specifically address current and emerging MRV capacities, ways we can align around standards for MRV, and how this increased transparency can — and must — help share more accurate emissions estimates, influence NDCs, and help shape political and financial decisions moving forward.
