About This Event

As record-breaking temperatures surge worldwide, so does electricity demand for cooling. The strain that inefficient cooling places on the grid results in frequent blackouts and increased costs for consumers. This doesn’t even account for the new demand yet to be installed in regions that need increased access to cooling and the buildings themselves. That’s why super-efficient air conditioners need to be brought to the market swiftly, to avoid meeting this rising demand with technologies that worsen the problem rather than solve it.

According to research from the Global Cooling Efficiency Accelerator (GCEA), super-efficient ACs tested under real-world conditions in Palava City, India, used 60 percent less energy than typical AC units, reduced peak demand, and maintained occupant comfort.

RMI’s Ankit Kalanki will speak on CoolPact Capital’s panel at Climate Week in NYC titled, “Keeping Cool on a Hotter Planet”. This event will convene experts across technology, policy, finance, and implementation to discuss the real-world solutions for the future of cooling in a warming world. This event is invite only and registrations are subject to approval by the host.
