Nick Pesta

Nick is a Manager with RMI’s Transportation Team. Nick leads the data science team on Transportation in using big data sources to sharpen the insights across the Transportation team’s portfolio. His work is focused on preparing the electrical grid for the loads created by electrified vehicle charging, especially those created by electric trucks. Nick has worked with utility staff, regulatory commissions, state and local government agencies, and fleets to promote innovative and cost effective approaches to vehicle electrification.

Background

Before joining RMI, Nick worked as an analyst at Catalyst Off-Grid Advisors, a consulting group that focused on off-grid solar electrification. One of his key efforts was working with locally owned solar distribution companies in Africa to help them scale up their operations and attract investment to spur further growth. Previously, he worked as an energy engineer at Advanced Solar Products, designing commercial-scale solar energy and battery storage projects for clients in the mid-Atlantic region of the United States.
