Julia manages projects that drive economic development through clean energy investment, connecting opportunities for regional economic competitiveness with federal clean energy funding opportunities.

Previously at RMI, Julia supported local governments in improving transportation infrastructure through the US Department of Transportation Thriving Communities Program and in procuring renewable energy as part of the City Renewables Accelerator. She also led RMI’s Urban Nature Initiative, building evidence and support for the climate benefits and investment opportunities that urban nature offers, and worked to improve the flow of global climate finance through green banks and innovative public finance mechanisms.

Background

Prior to RMI, Julia worked on international climate change at the US Department of State, formulating policy and negotiating on behalf of the United States at the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, including for the Paris Agreement. Julia’s previous experience includes air quality research at the US Department of Agriculture.
