Denali is a global strategic communications professional and an experienced writer, storyteller, and communications strategist with a background in climate finance and the energy transition, particularly in Small Island Developing States (SIDS) and Least Developed Countries (LDCs). She currently leads communication and marketing strategy for RMI’s Global South Program.
Background
Denali graduated from Tufts University with a B.A. in English and was elected a member of Phi Beta Kappa. At Tufts, she was a writing fellow, editor in chief of the Tufts Traveller Magazine, and worked on numerous programs focused on literacy development. Prior to RMI, she worked for the science and outreach nonprofit project, Climate Communication. There, she assisted in training and supporting scientists, working to deliver complex climate and energy narratives in accessible ways for the public, media, and policymakers.
She joined RMI in December 2016 as an Executive Assistant, supporting Climate Finance, Buildings, and Industry programs, before transitioning to Program Coordinator for the Global Climate Finance Program in 2018. She has worked full-time in strategic communications since February 2020, launching RMI initiatives such as the Climate Finance Access Network (CFAN) and the Center for Climate-Aligned Finance, and working across RMI’s Global South portfolio. She has deep experience in regional and international event organization and has helped coordinate RMI’s presence at the UNFCCC Conference of the Parties (COP) since 2019. Through her work with CFAN, which works across the Pacific and Caribbean, she has experience on the ground coordinating with local partners and stakeholders and collaborating with regional communications experts to capture human-centered content.
She is committed to audience-centered communications tailored for impact, and to conveying complex concepts accessibly and effectively.
