Virtual Workshop – How Cities and Other Institutions Can Cost Effectively Deploy On-Site Solar at Scale to Achieve Multiple Goals
With shifting energy policies and rising electricity prices, municipalities, universities, schools, and hospitals face increasing urgency to develop a clear strategy for procuring clean energy. By leveraging their own facilities and purchasing power, these institutions can achieve greater economies of scale and multiple community and economic benefits.
Drawing on RMI’s experience supporting multiple local governments with multi-site, on-site solar procurement, this virtual workshop will outline this strategy, how it works, and why it’s still relevant to consider. We’ll also showcase real-world examples of how local governments have identified suitable sites, conducted multi-site purchases, and reduced costs.
This interactive session will feature staff from the cities of San Antonio, San Diego, and Oklahoma City, as they share lessons learned and explain why this is still relevant to pursue. There will also be multiple opportunities for questions.
