India and Indonesia are among the world’s largest two-wheeler markets and are playing a pivotal role in the global transition to electric mobility. While India has accelerated electric two-wheeler adoption through targeted incentives, innovative financing models, battery swapping initiatives, and strong private sector participation, Indonesia has advanced through enabling policies, charging infrastructure expansion, and domestic EV manufacturing. Despite this progress, both countries continue to face common challenges around affordability, financing, charging and battery-swapping infrastructure, and consumer confidence.
This session brought together government representatives, industry leaders, and financial institutions from both India and Indonesia to exchange practical lessons on scaling electric two-wheelers. The discussion explored policy and financing developments, market-led innovations, and opportunities for cross-country collaboration to accelerate electric mobility across the region.
