Hope in the Global Push to Address the Climate Crisis

By RMI

Jump to Section

On December 11 at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., RMI Managing Directors Richenda Van Leeuwen, Jon Creyts, and Jennifer Stokes discussed solutions to reduce carbon emissions by 40–50 percent over the next decade, the necessary level to keep warming below 1.5°C.

As explained by Creyts, this is made even more challenging given that the world has not yet “bent the curve,” and that emissions continue to rise. “We have recognized a need to take our tools and do more with them faster,” notes Creyts.

The discussion focuses on RMI’s commitments in the year ahead to transform global energy use to create a clean, prosperous, and secure low-carbon future, which we have articulated in the frame of 7 Challenges.

And finally, the video explains how you can assist with this historic task.
