In this commentary in American Spectator, Amory Lovins refutes many of the claims made by William Tucker in his April 2001 article about the California energy crisis. In the commentary, Lovins claims that Tucker’s argument suffers from a chain of flaws in fact and logic. He argues against the claim that Internet use caused spikes in electricity demand as well as against the electricity-use data cited in the original article. Lovins provides accurate data and explanatory commentary in this article. A similar exchange, published in The Weekly Standard, is also available.
