Team: Carbon-Free Electricity

Alyssa is a senior associate on RMI’s Clean Competitive Grids team within the Carbon-Free Electricity Program. She works on strategies to support cost-effective expansion of the electric transmission system, advance grid-scale clean energy deployment, and help ensure growing electricity demand from large customers delivers cleaner, more affordable power for ratepayers.

Background

Alyssa initially joined the Institute through the RMI Transmission Fellowship. Before RMI, she worked with the education agency WestEd as a research associate, supporting research and technical assistance on resource allocation, systems planning, workforce development, and sustainable school facilities.

Earlier in her career, Alyssa served as a research assistant at the Energy Institute at Haas where she analyzed labor union strategies in environmental policymaking conflicts, and at the Berkeley Institute for Young Americans where she studied generational differences in values, voting behavior, and socioeconomic risk.
