This preface to the classic 1982 book, Brittle Power: Energy Strategy for National Security, was written after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. The authors write that the findings from the 1982 book are still relevant in 2001. Brittle Power’s findings remain broadly correct today despite many changes in detail.
