Jacob is a senior associate with RMI’s Carbon-Free Electricity Program. His work focuses on regulatory and cost allocation reforms to increase the affordability of electricity. He also supports and provides GIS expertise to RMI’s Brightfields Accelerator aimed at helping communities consider deploying clean energy in brownfields and closed landfills.
Background
Before RMI, Jacob researched the impact of air pollution on global health as a graduate student at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. There, he also compiled a greenhouse gas inventory and climate policy recommendations for the town of Carrboro while studying city planning. Before graduate school, he worked various jobs ranging from Zoo Quest Interpreter at the Bronx Zoo to researching the effects of climate change on plants in Minnesota.
