Global Islands Resilience and Energy Security Investment Platform

RMI and onepoint5 will introduce the Global Islands Resilience and Energy Security Investment Platform, a joint initiative designed to help island countries in different regions (including Small Island Developing States) convert resilience and energy-security priorities into investment-ready clean energy infrastructure projects. The Platform combines RMI’s capabilities in island energy planning, project preparation, implementation support, and climate finance access with onepoint5’s expertise in climate diplomacy and strategic stakeholder engagement to bring together, convene, and mobilize key partners to build alignment and strengthen collaboration on project implementation.

The initiative will first focus on Pacific countries, developing a delivery model that can be replicated across the Caribbean, African SIDS, and other regions facing similar resilience, energy security, finance, and implementation barriers.

This special event will feature welcoming remarks from RMI and keynote statements from Ambassador Patricia Espinosa, Founding Partner of onepoint5 and former UNFCCC Executive Secretary, and the Honourable Minister Lynda Tabuya, Minister for Information, Environment and Climate Change, Fiji.

A high-level panel will discuss why a new approach is needed to bridge the persistent gap between ambition and implementation in the Pacific, and how this Platform can help mobilize technical assistance, finance, political support, and implementation capacity around country-defined priorities.

The event will also build momentum toward Pre-COP31 in the Pacific in October and COP31, positioning the Platform as a practical mechanism for translating global climate ambition into country-led delivery.
