Webinar — Driving Electric: How cities are maintaining momentum for an inclusive EV transition

Wednesday · June 17, 2026

From the growing range of EV models and emerging secondhand EV market to the surge in e-bike sales and sharing, EV’s higher upfront costs are no longer the barrier to Americans making the shift. Where the U.S.’ EV transition hinges is access to reliable and affordable charging. Unsurprisingly, cities are seeing the air quality, cost, and public health benefits from going electric, so they continue to lead the charge on an inclusive EV transition. Embedding affordability, convenience, and long-term mobility goals in their EV-related investments, cities are pursuing creative ways to plan, finance, and roll out EV options, incentives, and charging.

Joined by staff from the cities of Austin, Atlanta, and Missoula, the team behind RMI’s e-Mobility Access Initiative will spotlight replicable strategies, analysis, and tools developed over the last three years of city partnerships.

What to Expect:

  • An overview of RMI’s eMobility Multifamily Charging Accelerator including replicable methods and analysis to:
    • identify and address charging at multifamily properties and lower-income communities,
    • implement EV sharing, charging, and other infrastructure, and
    • prioritize and champion electric mobility investments based on local conditions, objectives, and funding.
  • A panel discussion with city leaders, sharing what unlocked progress, the barriers that remain hardest to solve, and other lesson learned
  • Live Q&A with panelists and RMI, offering attendees the opportunity to ask questions relevant to their local context
