Welcome to the pre-launch Utility Transition Scorecards 1.0 Portal! This site is close to completion, but some charts and metrics still require refinement. These sections are marked with three red stars (***). Please note that the Portal experience is best when viewed on a computer, and a smartphone layout has not yet been developed.

What are RMI’s Utility Transition Scorecards 1.0

RMI’s Utility Transition Scorecards 1.0 provide metrics that measure progress toward the low-carbon transition and provides clarity for utilities and their stakeholders in assessing transition pathways. The final public version will include three components:

  1. Scorecard Portal 1.0 – what you see below is a fully interactive, Tableau-based portal that examines various metric categories (finances, operations, emissions, customers & community) and shows data visualizations for utility parent companies and subsidiaries, comparison charts for peer utilities, and aggregate charts for the entire regulated utility sector.
  2. Scorecard Landing Page 1.0 – a page offering narrative explaining high-level sector trends & findings, individual utility successes & opportunities for improvement and implications of utility trends for investors and customers.
  3. Sorecard Database 1.0 – underlying data will be available for download and fully flexible use
What will be included in the Utility Transition Scorecards 1.0 before launch

In addition to continued refinement of existing metrics and calculations, RMI’s Utility Transition Scorecards 1.0 will include more contextual information (e.g. policies and regulatory action) for utilities, along with forward-looking data on utility operations and emissions.
