Selim is a senior associate with the Global South Program, where he focuses on the clean energy transition in Southeast Asia. He currently uses financial instruments, systems analysis, and data science tools to support the transition from coal to clean sources in the region.

Background

Prior to RMI, Selim was part of the Energy and Utilities team at PA Consulting, where he analyzed US wholesale power markets. He specifically focused on capacity markets to assess how the ever-changing policy landscape affected the value proposition of various power generation assets. He also modeled electric power markets for regions across North America, including wholesale power, capacity, and REC price forecasting. In his graduate studies, Selim worked on designing a micro-grid for a small farming community in Puerto Rico.
