Rizky is a manager for SE Asia within RMI’s Global South Program, specializing in energy transition, partnership, and regional policy in Southeast Asia and Indonesia. As the country manager for Indonesia, Rizky assists RMI in coordinating activities on advancing and piloting of the clean energy transition under the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JET-P) auspices, corporate decarbonization, and urban mobility solutions by engaging with government, utility, civil societies, private sector, and other stakeholders in the country and region. Rizky joined RMI in 2021 and is currently based in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Background

Rizky has more than 12 years of experience in project management, business development, and stakeholder engagement. Rizky initiates a collaborative approach between RMI and stakeholder groups to develop and implement solutions that align with countries’ energy transition agenda to accelerate clean, affordable, and reliable energy deployment.

Prior to joining RMI, Rizky worked with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH (GIZ) for seven years as a team leader for the ASEAN-German Energy Program. At GIZ, Rizky coordinated the implementation of various sustainable energy activities in Southeast Asia — from ASEAN Energy Outlook, Regional Grid Integration, ASEAN Energy Database System, and LCOE to capacity development — with a total budget of around €7 million, jointly with ASEAN Center for Energy.

Rizky obtained his master’s degree from Technical University Munich, where he also worked part-time in Linde AG on European-scale procurement project and in Holzforschung München on palm oil bioenergy research. Before his graduate school, he also worked for almost four years as an implementation manager in Indonesia’s largest state-owned bank (Bank Mandiri), where he managed the company’s strategic project and corporate clients, including oil and gas companies (Chevron, ConocoPhillips, etc.).
