Rizky is a senior associate for SE Asia within RMI’s Global South Program, specializing in energy transition, partnership, and regional policy in Southeast Asia and Indonesia. Working as the Indonesia country manager/senior energy transition coordinator for SE Asia, Rizky assists RMI’s work in the coordination of activities on advancing and piloting of clean energy transition, corporate decarbonization, and urban mobility solutions by engaging with government, utility, and other stakeholders in the region. Rizky joined RMI in 2021.
Prior to joining RMI, Rizky spent seven years with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH (GIZ) as Team Leader for ASEAN-German Energy Program. There he coordinated the implementation of various sustainable energy activities in SE Asia from ASEAN Energy Outlook, Regional Grid Integration, ASEAN Energy Database System, LCOE, to capacity development—with a total budget of around 7 million EUR, jointly with the ASEAN Center for Energy.
Prior to GIZ, he completed his master’s degree at Technical University Munich where he also worked part-time in Linde AG on European-scale procurement project and Holzforschung München on palm oil bioenergy research. Before his graduate school, he worked for almost four years as implementation manager in Indonesia’s largest state-owned bank (Bank Mandiri) where he managed the company’s strategic project and corporate clients including oil and gas companies (Chevron, ConocoPhillips, etc).
