Monet Kunz

Senior Associate

Monet is a Senior Associate with the Cement and Concrete team within RMI’s Climate-Aligned Industries program, where she works to advance the transition to low-carbon cement and concrete. She collaborates with industry leaders, startups, investors, policymakers, and major material buyers to support emerging technologies, develop innovative procurement approaches, and drive change across the construction sector. Drawing on experience across engineering, construction, and climate strategy, she specializes in bridging the gap between technical innovation and market adoption to bring low-carbon solutions from concept to deployment.

Background

Before joining RMI, Monet worked in sustainability and project delivery at Skanska USA Building, where she supported LEED-certified higher education projects, advised teams on low-carbon concrete strategies, and evaluated opportunities to reduce embodied carbon in building materials. She also managed construction operations and concrete scopes, gaining firsthand experience in project delivery and coordination across design and construction teams. Earlier in her career, Monet supported sustainability initiatives at the University of California, Davis Energy Conservation Office, where she worked on LEED operations and maintenance efforts and analyzed building performance to improve energy and material efficiency.

Outside of work, Monet can be found running on the trails, learning from a new book, or building her next creative project.
