Mitchell is a senior associate with RMI’s Climate Intelligence Program, where he supports efforts to decarbonize the oil and gas industry. His energy expertise lies in US Lower 48 oil and gas production forecasting, domestic natural gas demand, regional dynamics in US gas markets, and LNG markets. He is currently developing methane mitigation strategies within the oil and gas industry and building client transition assessment frameworks for sustainability-minded financial institutions.

Background

Prior to joining RMI, Mitchell worked as an energy analyst with BTU Analytics, a FactSet Company, where he specialized in market analysis for the US natural gas and oil sectors. In addition to market analysis, Mitchell spent his time at BTU forecasting upstream oil and gas production and modeling gas demand across the US Lower 48. Prior to venturing into energy analysis, Mitchell worked as a legal analyst for Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, where he assisted in the launch of several ESG mutual funds as part of their Investment Management practice group.
