Ella is an associate with the Carbon-Free Buildings Program and splits her time between two program initiatives. She supports the facilitation and streamlining of deep energy retrofits in Massachusetts for the REALIZE-MA Initiative and conducts research on climate risk within the real estate market for the Finance the Future Initiative.

Background

Ella joined RMI after receiving her BA in Environmental Studies, where she focused on the intersection of business, urban planning, environmental justice, and environmental health in the built environment. While pursuing her degree, she conducted extensive research on urban green space distribution relative to legacies of environmental injustice in urban planning and development, such as redlining and green gentrification. In addition, through an internship at the Urban Land Institute, she developed ESG guidelines and initiatives within the corporate real estate sector and supported methods of building climate resilience in urban areas.
