David Mann is a Senior Fellow at RMI, where he focuses on efforts to better track, price, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions throughout the real economy.
Background
Over the past 20 years David has worked across science, software, cleantech, consulting, investing, and advising. Prior to RMI, David:
- cofounded the Climate Map, a nonprofit focused on roadmapping the ecosystems of underexplored, high-potential climate solutions;
- led product teams at Dropbox, building machine learning–enabled, exabyte-scale distributed systems;
- invested in cleantech at Khosla Ventures, where he assessed, incubated, and assisted companies focused on energy generation, energy storage, food tech, agriculture, transportation, efficient lighting, and efficient HVAC;
- and consulted with McKinsey & Company, where he led or contributed to several climate-related projects covering energy utilities, consumer packaged goods, transportation, and policy, including the 2009 publication, Unlocking Energy Efficiency in the US Economy.
