Alexander is a manager with the Research & Diligence unit of Third Derivative, leading diligence of startups in electricity, agriculture, and related fields. He also coordinates research in the electricity sector, including long-duration energy storage, geothermal, white hydrogen, and other emerging technologies. Alexander currently represents the R&D function for the New Economies Partnership, bolstering innovation and investment in Climatetech in Southeast Asia and India.

Background

Alexander has worked for multilaterals, including International Solar Alliance and International Finance Corporation on emerging sectors such as green hydrogen, energy storage, solar manufacturing, and financing in emerging markets.

Previously, he worked for Boston Consulting Group on decarbonization and electric vehicles. He spent the bulk of his career with Manitoba Hydro, an integrated utility in Canada, with a focus on power system operations, customer operations, transmission and generation planning, and resource adequacy.

He has specific expertise in renewables integration and clean firm power, including energy storage.
