Akshay Shetty is a development officer at RMI. He is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with funders, and identifying new funding opportunities to support RMI’s mission. His role involves strategic planning, coordinating with program teams for philanthropic opportunities, and ensuring effective communication with donors to secure financial support for RMI’s initiatives.

Background

Before RMI, Akshay was associated with Dasra, a leading strategic philanthropic foundation in India, where he led their collaborative-building efforts on climate action through the ClimateRISE Alliance. With over nine years of experience in the social impact sector, Akshay has held leadership roles at organizations such as Saajha, Milaan Foundation, and Rajiv Gandhi Mahila Vikas Pariyojana.
