This webinar, hosted by the ABC Collaborative, convenes housing developers, municipal governments, financing partners, and fabricators to share firsthand insights about the application and feasibility of using modular and industrialized construction to develop high performance, affordable housing at scale. Our discussion topics range from municipal regulatory reform to the latest technological innovations in modular construction. Whether you’re an established professional or modular-curious, this is a great opportunity to network with a national community of professionals and industry veterans.

Panel speakers will include:

  • Jennifer Castenson (moderator) is a longtime advocate for housing innovation and the vice president of ambassador and industry partner programs at Buildxact. Castenson provides leadership and collaboration across the various verticals involved in custom homebuilding and remodeling, and the industry stakeholders involved to guide relevant product solutions. Castenson also serves as a contributing writer to Forbes, reporting on innovative solutions in the built environment.
  • Rick Holliday of Holliday Development, is a pioneer in developing affordable and market rate housing across California for almost 50 years. Holliday previously founded a series of successful development companies including Eden Housing and BRIDGE Housing — a leader in deploying affordable and sustainable communities. Most recently, Holliday co-founded Factory OS to manufacture modular affordable housing at scale.
  • Caleb Roope of The Pacific Companies, the largest affordable housing developer in the US with over 160 multifamily projects completed in the last 25+ years, helped launch AutoVol, a highly automated modular manufacturing factory. The Pacific Companies completes approximately 15 to 20 multifamily and special-purpose projects each year while devoting additional capacity to the affordable housing policy front. Roope works at the local, state, and federal levels.
  • Bali Kumar is an expert in Property Assessed Clean Energy, currently serving as the chief operating officer of PACE Loan Group in Minneapolis, a position he has held since 2021 after serving as the COO and later CEO of Lean & Green Michigan.
  • Jake Levitas is a planning supervisor in the city of Raleigh’s Urban Projects Group, a new team established to advance public-private partnerships, plan implementation, and creative problem solving. Prior to joining the city, he worked at HR&A Advisors, where he conducted urban development and policy analysis for cities across the country to help build more resilient, inclusive, and prosperous communities. Over his career, he has worked for 15 years in the center of urban planning, civic innovation, and sustainable development. A Raleigh native, he received dual master’s degrees in city and regional planning and public administration from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, with a specialization in economic development.
