The energy system is transforming. Historic demand growth is colliding with new mandates for speed, affordability, and security. New technologies offer solutions across the energy system, from grid operations to industrial processes, but many require investment and deployment at scale.  

Established technologies benefit from decades of transaction norms, including established approaches to risk assessment and clear pathways to accessing commercial capital. Emerging transformative technologies often do not. Deal Lab exists to help close that gap.  

Deal Lab is RMI’s innovation studio for supporting “lighthouse” deals: pioneering transactions that establish replicable approaches to deploying new technologies, markets, and business models at commercial scale.
