Rotational Associate
Sara is an associate on RMI’s Electricity Program, where she is a member of the Energy Poverty & Safeguards team. She works with regulators and advocates to advance policies addressing energy insecurity, disconnections, and other forms of energy poverty.
Background
Prior to joining RMI, Sara worked at Duke Energy on the Energy Efficiency team, where she supported a portfolio of non-residential energy efficiency programs through energy usage analysis, savings calculations, forecasting, and program performance evaluation. Her work helped ensure accurate reporting, regulatory compliance, and effective program delivery.
Sara also worked at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, supporting program operations and efforts to align scientific work and office operations with agency priorities. She used data analysis and technology tools to streamline processes, reduce duplicative efforts, support policy implementation, and advance agency-wide strategic objectives.
Across her academic and professional experiences, Sara’s work has been grounded in a broader interest in people-centered policy and advocacy, with a particular focus on understanding how programs and policies work in practice and ensuring they effectively reach and serve the people they are intended to support.
