Paula Valencia
Manager
Paula is a Manager with RMI’s Southeast Asia team under the Global South Program. She leads strategic initiatives across the region focused on energy transition, industrial decarbonization, and climate resilience. Her work includes supporting governments and industry on coal-to-clean transition pathways, transport decarbonization, battery energy storage systems, methane reduction, and renewable energy development.
Background
Prior to joining RMI, Paula was a Project Manager at the Financial Futures Center, where she led regional initiatives on climate finance and sustainable development across Asia-Pacific and supported the Global South climate finance consortium. She was also seconded to the Vulnerable Twenty (V20) Group Secretariat, a coalition of finance ministers from climate-vulnerable countries, where she coordinated high-level engagements and international collaboration on climate resilience and sustainable finance.
