Zia Khan

Vice President for Initiatives and Strategy: Rockefeller Foundation

Zia Khan is the vice president for Initiatives and Strategy at the Rockefeller Foundation. Zia oversees the Foundation’s approach for achieving impact and realizing the organization’s mission and goals. He leads the program team in New York, Bangkok, and Nairobi and their work in searching for new opportunities, developing strategies, and executing initiatives. He also provides direction for the Foundation’s commitment to supporting new innovations and capacities in the sector.

Prior to joining the Foundation, Zia was a management consultant who advised senior leaders in different sectors on strategy and organizational performance. His previous experience includes being a partner at Booz & Company and a principal at Katzenbach Partners where he founded and led the San Francisco office. He is the co-author of Leading Outside the Lines, named as a top 10 business book in 2010, and is frequent writer and speaker on strategy, innovation, and topics related to the Foundation’s work. Zia holds a B.S. from Cornell University and an M.S. and Ph.D. from Stanford University.
