Özüm is an associate within RMI’s Center for Climate-Aligned Finance program, where she works to support the Center to advance critical decarbonization frameworks for the financial sector focusing on aluminum and cement industries.
Özüm joins RMI after receiving her master’s degree in mechanical engineering and completing her thesis research project on aluminum alloys. She recently supported MIT Energy Initiative’s research in developing a system-scale energy analysis tool to assess the system-level greenhouse gas emissions and industrial decarbonization pathways. She was also involved in research on the feasibility study of rooftop solar PV for commercial buildings. Prior to MIT and Northeastern, Özüm worked as an intern at 3M, electronics and energy division.
