Michel is a senior advisor to the Center for Climate-Aligned Finance.
Background
Michel has over 30 years’ experience in the financial services industry. Since 2015 he has been deeply involved in climate change from a banking perspective, initially focused on circular economy business development and sustainable business and product development. During 2018–2019 he served as Initiative Lead for Project Terra at ING and was deeply involved in the development of climate alignment methodologies, target setting, and client engagement strategies.
Beginning in 2020, Michel worked for Rabobank as an independent consultant. In that capacity, he worked on the development and implementation of alignment methodologies and targets for all major asset classes including food and agriculture, residential and commercial real estate, power generation, private client investments, and small and medium-size enterprises. Michel is active as an external advisor to the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and chairs the recently established PACTA Advisory Group.
